The new chairman of Volkswagen AG (
Martin Winterkorn) has put plans for the new
Scirocco on hold
. This doesn’t mean it’s cancelled though – only that it’s not full steam ahead.
One of the key reasons would be that Winterkorn wants all new models to undergo a styling review.
This means the controversial front and rear ends of the IROC concept might be changed – which could be good news for all fans of the original Scirocco’s fastback styling.

It's also been reported over at
CARtoday.com
where they back up that the front end of the new Scirocco is being restyled.
